What You’ll Be Working On
- Designing, building, and managing OpenShift Virtualization (CNV/KubeVirt) environments.
- Leading and executing VM migrations from VMware vSphere to OpenShift using Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV).
- Tuning VM performance, storage, and networking to meet demanding workloads.
- Solving deep technical challenges across OpenShift, Kubernetes, storage, and networking stacks.
- Partnering with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver smooth migration strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of OpenShift architecture and components.
- Experience with OpenShift CLI (oc), Operators, and troubleshooting.
- Solid grasp of Kubernetes fundamentals (pods, deployments, services, RBAC).
- Creating and managing VMs in OpenShift.
- VM templates, disk management, live migration, and tuning.
- Integrating KubeVirt seamlessly into OpenShift environments.
- Proven experience migrating VMs from VMware vSphere to OpenShift Virtualization.
- Familiarity with MTV architecture: source providers, migration plans, hooks.
- Planning and executing cold/warm migrations, cutover strategies, rollbacks.
- Troubleshooting migration failures and optimizing performance post-migration.
- Strong background in persistent storage ( Ceph, NFS, CSI drivers).
- Advanced networking: Multus CNI, SR-IOV, bridge interfaces.
- Designing and securing VM connectivity in hybrid environments.
- High-impact role driving virtualization transformation.
- Remote-friendly but Melbourne-based for collaboration.
