Overview
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support the delivery of a greenfield platform implementation for a global energy technology capability.
The role sits within a cross-functional engineering team responsible for delivering a scalable platform-as-a-service solution used by external clients. The platform integrates backend data processing, APIs and web applications and will be deployed across multiple client environments.
This role requires a strong technical BA comfortable operating across both backend and frontend engineering teams, translating business capability into clear technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Own requirements gathering, documentation and technical specifications for new platform capabilities.
- Translate business capability requirements into detailed technical specs for engineering teams.
- Work closely with Python backend engineers responsible for data processing jobs, APIs and system integrations.
- Collaborate with React frontend engineers to translate Figma designs into functional component specifications.
- Support greenfield implementation work, dealing with evolving requirements and ambiguity.
- Facilitate workshops with product managers, delivery leads and engineering teams.
- Ensure clear documentation of system behaviours, API requirements and platform capabilities.
- Work alongside QA teams to ensure requirements are testable and clearly defined.

- Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst within engineering-led delivery teams.
- Proven ability to work across backend and frontend development teams.
- Experience documenting API-driven platforms, system integrations and technical capabilities.
- Comfortable working with Python engineering teams.
- Experience supporting React / web frontend delivery.
- Experience translating UX designs (Figma) into functional specifications.
- Ability to operate effectively in greenfield delivery environments with evolving requirements.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with both technical and product teams.
- Experience within energy, utilities or platform product environments.
- Experience working with platform-as-a-service or white-label software solutions.
- Exposure to AWS-based architectures.
The ideal candidate will be a full-stack Technical BA comfortable working across both backend data/API environments and modern web frontends.
Candidates who specialise exclusively in either backend or frontend environments will not be suitable for this role.
