Software Engineer - Frontend Focused (Mid–Senior)
Hybrid | Sydney-based
Hourly rate: $68 - $73 + super p/h
We're partnering with a globally recognised software centre based in Sydney, developing market-leading solutions across building automation and digital video surveillance. Their products are exported worldwide and trusted by organisations across the globe. The business has a strong product roadmap and a genuine commitment to modern engineering practices, quality systems, and Agile delivery.
You'll be joining a collaborative engineering team that works closely with UX, Product, QA, and global development teams to ship software that has real-world impact at scale. This is an environment where engineers are trusted to take ownership, contribute to technical decisions, and solve genuinely complex problems.
What You'll Be Doing
* Building and maintaining full stack web applications using modern .NET technologies and React
* Developing frontend experiences using HTML5, CSS/Sass, TypeScript, and ReactJS
* Working across backend services, REST APIs, and cloud-hosted infrastructure
* Contributing to state management, containerisation, and scalable system design
* Collaborating closely with engineers, product, UX, and QA in an Agile team
* Supporting customer-facing software across the full development lifecycle
* Contributing to code quality, technical decisions, and continuous improvement
What You'll Bring
Essential:
* Solid frontend capability across HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and ReactJS
* Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or Context API
* Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure
* Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker
* Proven full stack capability with a track record of delivering quality software
* Experience working in Agile teams with automated unit and integration testing
** MUST BE CURRENTLY RESIDING IN SYDNEY**
Highly Desirable:
* Strong commercial experience with .NET and C# in a product development environment
* Experience with web service development including REST, WCF, or gRPC
* Background in service hosting on-premise or in Azure
* Familiarity with C++ or experience in building automation, IoT, or similar regulated domains
* Tertiary qualification in Software or Systems Engineering or equivalent
