Ongoing Location: Melbourne (Hybrid – 4 days in office)
Role Overview We’re looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to manage and support physical and virtual server environments, enterprise platforms, and business applications. You’ll ensure systems are secure, highly available, and performing optimally through monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning, while balancing day-to-day support with project work in an ITIL-aligned environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, core infrastructure)
- Perform patching, maintenance, and upgrades of Windows Servers, VMware, and Citrix platforms
- Troubleshoot complex issues across servers, storage, networks, and virtual environments
- Manage backups and maintain data integrity for critical systems
- Promote cybersecurity best practices and proactively manage security risks
- Collaborate across teams to deliver projects and operational outcomes
- Apply ITIL practices for incident, problem, change, and service request management
- Support platforms such as Exchange Online, Office 365, Azure, AWS, Citrix XenApp, and VDI
- Maintain knowledge of hardware platforms including Cisco UCS, Dell EMC, and Pure Storage
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related field with relevant certifications (MCSA/MCSE, Citrix CCA/CCP, VCP)
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Server environments (2008–2016), Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and enterprise certificates
- Skilled in cloud solutions, SCCM, SSL certificate management, and application support
- Experience delivering IT systems projects within an ITIL framework
- Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder communication, and project delivery skills
