What you'll be doing
- Leading testing and quality activities across agile squads — from strategy and planning through to execution and reporting
- Building, maintaining and scaling test automation frameworks using Playwright and other modern tooling, integrated into CI/CD pipelines on AWS
- Designing and implementing automation solutions across UI, API and regression testing to support continuous delivery
- Analysing requirements early, identifying risks and helping teams shift quality left throughout the development lifecycle
- Owning defect triage and communication — keeping the right people across priorities at the right time
- Contributing to test data and environment management so exploratory and automated tests run reliably
- Embedding security testing practices into everyday quality activities
- Mentoring and supporting other engineers, helping grow a culture where quality is everyone's job
- Demonstrable experience with Playwright for end-to-end test automation — this is a must-have for this role
- Solid automation skills across other tooling such as Selenium, Cypress or similar frameworks
- Scripting or OOP skills in Python, JavaScript, Java or similar languages
- Experience testing APIs — REST, SOAP, GraphQL, microservices and event streaming
- Hands-on experience integrating test automation into CI/CD workflows, particularly with GitLab and AWS
- Familiarity with BDD, TDD and shift-left testing approaches
- Strong communication skills — comfortable presenting quality risks and test outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
