Platform Engineering | Azure Cloud
We’re partnering with a leading organisation looking to bring on a Senior Platform Engineer to help design and deliver secure, scalable cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure.
This role sits within a high-performing platform engineering team responsible for building and evolving cloud infrastructure that enables development teams to deliver applications quickly, safely, and reliably.
You’ll play a key role in designing platform capabilities, improving developer experience, and driving DevOps practices across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design and implement Azure Landing Zones aligned with Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework.
- Build accelerator-based deployment patterns and infrastructure vending architectures to streamline provisioning.
- Develop modular and reusable infrastructure components using Infrastructure as Code.
- Create reusable C# libraries and platform tooling to support application teams.
- Implement automated testing strategies for infrastructure code to ensure reliability and prevent regressions.
- Apply DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines across teams and environments.
- Implement Azure security and networking configurations, including RBAC, Azure Policy, NSGs, VNets, and Azure Firewall.
- Establish cloud standards, policies, and governance frameworks across the environment.
- Work closely with application teams to ensure platform capabilities are accessible, scalable, and aligned with best practices.
- Contribute to agile delivery practices and continuous improvement of the cloud platform.
- 10+ years experience working with Microsoft Azure in enterprise-scale environments
- Proven background in platform engineering, cloud architecture, or infrastructure automation
- Experience working in agile environments with cross-functional teams
- Infrastructure as Code experience ( Bicep or Terraform)
- Strong C# development skills, ideally building reusable libraries or internal tooling
- Deep understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity management
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of cloud governance and compliance frameworks
- Experience with automated testing in cloud-native environments
- Familiarity with identity, federation, and SSO integrations
- Passion for cloud technologies and platform engineering
- Strong problem-solving and system design skills
- A continuous improvement mindset focused on reliability and developer experience
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, security, and application teams
- Comfortable mentoring developers and promoting cloud-native best practices
