Hiring: Senior Platform Engineer (Azure) – Contract Role
About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Platform Engineer
with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to join our team on a long-term contract. You’ll be at the forefront of building scalable, secure, and automated Azure infrastructure to support enterprise application teams.
In this role, you'll combine infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and reusable tooling to drive DevOps excellence and cloud-native maturity. You’ll collaborate across engineering, architecture, and security functions to help deliver reliable and high-performing platforms.
Location:
Melbourne (Hybrid – 2 days in CBD office per week)
C ontract Length:
12 months (extensions likely)
Day Rate:$1000 – $1200/day incl. super (based on experience)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and manage secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure
- Design and deploy Landing Zones and reusable infrastructure using Bicep and Terraform
- Develop C# tools and libraries to support platform integration
- Implement automated testing for infrastructure and tooling
- Apply best practices in Azure security, networking, and identity (RBAC, NSGs, Entra ID, etc.)
- Define and enforce cloud governance and standards
- Work closely with application teams to support adoption and mentor developers
- Drive DevOps, CI/CD, and continuous improvement in an agile environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in enterprise settings
- Expertise in platform engineering, automation, and cloud architecture
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform)
- Solid C# development background
- Deep understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and agile workflows
- A self-starter with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Team player who’s proactive, collaborative, and passionate about cloud tech
