Senior Network Installation Engineer |Melbourne (Hybrid) | $120k Package
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Installation Technician Support (S3 level)
to join our team in Melbourne. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of Next Generation 911 (NG911) Call Handling Equipment
at customer sites across Australia.
This is a hybrid position
with travel to backup centers and remote sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot NG911 equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, servers, and workstations).
- Conduct site surveys, asset management, and infrastructure deployment.
- Perform software installations, upgrades, and vulnerability patching (Windows, Linux, and 3rd-party systems).
- Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting, customer support, and training.
- Maintain documentation, open/track trouble tickets, and prepare reports.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams, project managers, and R&D.
- Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP, IP networking, LAN/WAN protocols, and telephony.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, SSL/TLS, SFTP, SMTP, and network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark).
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments; Cisco switches/routers experience preferred.
- Familiarity with PBXs, SBCs, and standard installation practices.
- Experience with patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, BigFix).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in network management and customer service.
- Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Telecommunications, Network Technology, or Engineering.
- Must be based in Melbourne with the ability to travel as required.
