We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Senior Cloud Project Officer
to join our Cloud Delivery team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-security environment, and can balance competing priorities while delivering results that directly contribute to Australia’s national security capabilities.
As a Cloud Project Officer, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and governance
of our cloud-based initiatives. You’ll ensure that all solutions align with stringent security, privacy, and resilience
requirements, while enabling measurable business outcomes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, delivery, and governance of secure, cloud-based initiatives within ASD.
- Manage competing priorities and respond quickly to shifting project requirements.
- Provide high-quality coordination support for multi-agency governance forums (agendas, minutes, briefing papers, action tracking).
- Deliver executive briefings, program reports, and written communications for senior stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance project management artefacts and documentation in line with ASD standards.
- Administer and manage Objective records and project structures to ensure compliance with records management processes.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across Defence and government.
- Facilitate work package planning and execution, daily stand-ups, and progress tracking to reduce project risks and scope creep.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery and procedural development.
You are a proactive, detail-oriented project professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with senior executives, industry partners, and security stakeholders. You thrive under pressure, can manage ambiguity, and maintain confidentiality in highly secure environments.
Essential Criteria
- Professional certification or training in Project Management(e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, SCM).
- Experience working in a National Intelligence Community (NIC) agency in a project capacity.
- Demonstrated experience applying Agile methodologies as a Project Officer.
- Proven ability to support project control boards or governance meetings (minutes, agendas, action tracking, reporting).
- Experience working with commercial cloud platforms and concepts in a project environment.
- Experience using Azure DevOps and GovTEAMS.
- Current Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) or Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Willingness to undergo the Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA), which includes a psychological questionnaire and interview.
- A current OSA will be highly advantageous.
