A large NSW Government agency is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join its data and analytics function on a long term contract. You'll be working within a Chief Data Office style team, helping shape how a major public sector organisation turns operational and corporate data into decisions people actually act on, including hands on work applying large language models to speed up how the business interacts with its own data.
The role
- Design and develop scalable BI frameworks and governance models against best practice standards
- Build intuitive, customer centric Power BI dashboards and reports for operational and corporate stakeholders
- Apply LLMs to generate automated analysis, insights and summaries for non technical users
- Source and integrate data from multiple systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, cloud platforms and APIs
- Help manage BI environments and deployment pipelines across Dev, Test and Prod
- Proven experience as a Senior BI Developer, strong across Power BI, DAX, data modelling, SQL and LLMs
- Strong experience optimising Power BI report performance, on premises and cloud based
- Strong experience in ETL, data cleansing and data migration across large, complex datasets
- Extensive experience with version control (GitHub, BitBucket) and tools like Confluence and Jira
- Extensive hands on experience with Python and SQL
Culture
You'll be joining a Chief Data Office style function focused on lifting data fluency and BI standards across a large public sector organisation, working closely with data governance, engineering and data science teams rather than in isolation.
