The Minor Works Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of electronic security projects ranging from $10,000 to $1 million across commercial, government, healthcare, education and industrial.

The role oversees the end-to-end management of minor works projects, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will work closely with clients, subcontractors, technicians, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver integrated security solutions including Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection, Intercom and Perimeter Protection

Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
  • Manage multiple concurrent electronic security projects from award through to completion.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, procurement strategies, and resource allocations.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and timeframes.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate installation teams, subcontractors, and commissioning resources.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and project review meetings.
  • Manage project variations, extensions of time, and client requests.
Client Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, builders, and end users.
  • Attend client meetings and provide regular project updates.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional works.
Financial Management
  • Prepare project budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Track project costs, labour utilisation, and procurement expenditure.
  • Manage forecasting, invoicing, and project reporting.
  • Identify and pursue variation opportunities to maximise project profitability.
  • Ensure projects achieve targeted gross profit margins.

Procurement & Resource Management
  • Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials.
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Ensure materials are available to support project schedules.
  • Allocate internal resources effectively across multiple projects.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all WHS legislation and company safety procedures.
  • Conduct project risk assessments and site-specific safety planning.
  • Maintain compliance with Australian Standards and client specifications.
  • Ensure all project documentation is completed and maintained accurately.
Technical Oversight
  • Provide technical guidance relating to:
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV & Video Management Systems
  • Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Intercom & Communication Systems
  • Integrated Security Platforms
  • Review designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Support commissioning and handover activities.

Reporting & Administration
  • Prepare project status reports for management and clients.
  • Maintain project documentation including:
  • Risk Registers
  • Site Reports
  • Variations
  • Financial Tracking
  • Practical Completion Documentation
  • Conduct project close-out reviews and lessons learned sessions.

Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Minimum 3 years' project management experience within the Electronic Security industry.
  • Proven experience delivering minor works and upgrade projects.
  • Strong understanding of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection and Integrated Security Systems.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and field-based technical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • NSW Security Industry Licence
  • Construction White Card.
Desirable
  • Experience delivering projects within Commercial Buildings, Healthcare, Education, Government, Industrial, or Critical Infrastructure sectors.
  • Knowledge of Gallagher, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Integriti, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using Simpro or similar service/project management software.
