Not someone who's read about it. Someone who's lived the complexity of migrating a high-volume native app, made the hard calls on architecture, and can stand in a room of skeptical tech leaders and make the case with evidence, not slides.
The role: Principal Mobile Engineer (React Native), 6-month contract with a clear path to 12 months and beyond.
What you'll actually do:
Review where we are. Be honest about it. Design where we need to go. Then help us get buy-in from the people who matter, because good architecture that doesn't get funded is just a document.
You're probably right for this if:
- You've architected React Native at scale, not just contributed to it
- 8+ Years with ReactNative
- Any experience migrating from Native to React Native
- You have full-stack context (it helps when you're talking to everyone)
- You've influenced without authority before, and you're good at it
- Any Tech Lead experience would be good.
- You're opinionated, but your opinions are anchored in outcomes
- This role will be 3 days in office per week (Melbourne CBD) and the rest from home.
- 6 months with likely extensions
- Daily rate: $1050incl Super p/d flex
