Melbourne or Sydney
Are you a RACF specialist who's happiest finding a better way of doing things, rather than just keeping the lights on?
This is a chance to join the mainframe security engineering team at one of Australia's leading banks, in a role that's focused on innovation and continuous improvement as much as day-to-day security.
About the opportunity
You'll join the Mainframe Security Engineering team inside the bank's Group Security function, and sit within the area focused on innovation.
The team protects the security integrity of mainframe systems that support millions of customers. It's also tasked with modernising how access control is delivered, through better tooling, automation and simpler processes.
The role
- Design, deliver and maintain RACF security solutions across the bank's mainframe environment
- Find and deliver process improvements, automation and risk reduction across the mainframe estate, with results you can measure in time and cost saved
- Provide technical expertise and assurance on projects, from validating requirements and making design decisions through to testing and deployment
- Evaluate tools, techniques and security frameworks to improve how access control is delivered
- Work with internal and external audit and Enterprise Controls, and lead remediation where needed
- Mentor more junior members of the team
What you'll bring
- 15+ years of mainframe experience, including 10+ years in a security role with advanced RACF expertise
- Advanced JCL and REXX skills, plus solid hands-on use of ISPF (including Dialog Management Services) and SDSF
- A background in audit, risk and controls, and a good understanding of regulatory obligations in a technology environment
- Programming experience in at least one other language, ideally Python or Assembler
- Clear communication and documentation, and the ability to become a trusted advisor to stakeholders
- A tertiary qualification in technology or a related field
- SAS programming experience is highly regarded but not essential.
The team
You'll work closely with the Mainframe Identity Services and Identity and Access Management leaders, technology and business users, and audit teams. The team values quality, attention to detail and people who take an initiative from first idea through to successful deployment.
What's on offer
- 12-month contract with a major Australian bank
- Based in Melbourne or Sydney, your choice
- High-impact work shaping the future of mainframe security, not just BAU
