We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Team Lead
to manage and optimize a modern Microsoft Azure environment while leading a high-performing technical team. This is a hands-on leadership role
where you'll balance operational delivery, continuous improvement, and people management.
You'll oversee a team of Infrastructure Support Engineers, a Database Analyst, an IT Operations Analyst, and an Endpoint Computing Analyst—ensuring a secure, resilient, and efficient IT environment that supports business growth and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small technical team, fostering a culture of high performance and professional development.
- Manage and optimise Microsoft Azure services, including Windows & Linux VMs, networking, cost control, backup, patching, and updates.
- Oversee endpoint management, telephony, print services, and Microsoft Teams infrastructure.
- Drive automation of manual processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure ITIL-aligned change management practices are followed.
- Maintain disaster recovery strategies, monitoring, and performance reporting.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to meet SLAs and deliver effective solutions.
- Champion service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across infrastructure operations.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (Fundamentals & Administrator required; Solutions Architect, Virtual Desktop, or Network Engineer desirable).
- ITIL Foundation v3 or v4.
- 10+ years in IT infrastructure or operations.
- 3+ years in a leadership/team lead role with proven people development.
- Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in endpoint management (e.g. Microsoft Intune).
- Experience with DR planning, monitoring systems, automation, and patching.
- Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
- Strong capability with monitoring platforms (e.g., Site24x7, Azure Monitor).
- Excellent problem-solving and workload prioritization skills.
- Confident, credible leader with strong communication and documentation ability.
- Desirable: Microsoft Teams telephony and SharePoint administration experience.
