The Opportunity
Join a leading my client as a GCP Architect, working across complex cloud, data and analytics transformation programs for high profile clients.
You will be responsible for designing, governing and delivering secure, scalable and enterprise grade data platforms on Google Cloud Platform, working closely with senior stakeholders, engineers, architects and governance teams.
This is a highly consultative architecture role, combining GCP architecture, data engineering, security, governance and stakeholder engagement.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver enterprise scale data platforms on GCP
- Lead solution architecture, technical discovery and stakeholder engagement
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure and practical cloud solutions
- Develop architecture documentation including solution designs, technical options papers and architecture decision records
- Design data models and platforms supporting enterprise reporting, analytics and OLAP workloads
- Architect batch and real time data pipelines using GCP native services
- Provide technical leadership across data engineering, cloud security, networking and governance
- Drive data governance, quality, metadata, lineage and cataloguing outcomes
- Present technical recommendations to Architecture Review Boards and governance forums
- Provide delivery assurance and ensure solutions meet security, architecture and operational standards
- Mentor engineers and technical leads while contributing to broader architecture standards
What We're Looking For
You will bring extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise GCP solutions, ideally within complex or highly regulated environments.
Strong experience across:
- Google Cloud Platform
- BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc and Cloud Storage
- Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer and Dataplex
- Advanced SQL and dimensional data modelling
- Enterprise data platforms and OLAP architecture
- Data integration and transformation pipelines
- Data governance, metadata, lineage, cataloguing and data quality
- GCP networking, VPC architecture, IAM, encryption and security
- Solution Architecture and High Level / Detailed Design documentation
- Architecture governance and technical assurance
Desirable
- Government or highly regulated environment experience
- Data Mesh and modern data architecture patterns
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- DevOps, CI/CD and DataOps
- Experience mentoring engineers and technical leads
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification
