Full-Stack Developer – React Native / NestJS / AWS
Sydney | 1 day in office | Initial 6 month contract.
$65 - $75 ph
We are working with a growing tech startup moving beyond MVP into their next phase of product growth. This is a solo ownership role sitting at the heart of the business, with end-to-end responsibility for their mobile app, web platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
The work is hands-on and broad, spanning React Native mobile development, NestJS backend services, and production AWS infrastructure. You will work directly with product and leadership, translating real business requirements into scalable, production-ready software.
What you'll be doing
- Owning end-to-end development of the mobile app and web platforms
- Building and maintaining the React Native (TypeScript) mobile application
- Developing and maintaining React / Next.js web frontends
- Designing and maintaining backend services and APIs using NestJS
- Managing and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, and API Gateway
- Deploying and managing web applications via Vercel including CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring system performance, reliability, and security
- Working closely with product, operations, and leadership to deliver continuous improvements
What you'll need
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with React Native and TypeScript
- Proven backend experience with NestJS or comparable Node.js frameworks
- Solid experience building and maintaining REST APIs
- Hands-on AWS experience in a production environment
- Strong understanding of authentication, security best practices, and system design
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and agile delivery
- Experience with iOS and Android app store deployments
- Background in startups or scale-ups
- Exposure to compliance-heavy or regulated industries
- Experience collaborating directly with non-technical stakeholders and product managers
