You will lead complex engagements for large employers with sophisticated payroll environments, providing strategic advice, overseeing technical workstreams, and driving commercially sound outcomes for clients.

There is an established pipeline of work in place, so this role offers immediate delivery impact while also requiring broader Director-level capability across client leadership, team development, commercial acumen, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex payroll remediation, wage compliance, and data-led compliance engagements from discovery through to remediation and implementation support
  • Act as a senior advisor to clients on payroll compliance, remediation strategy, risk, governance, and delivery approach
  • Oversee the design and application of data models used to identify underpayments, assess historical liabilities, and support remediation outcomes
  • Translate awards, enterprise agreements, overtime, penalties, superannuation, and related obligations into practical and defensible remediation approaches
  • Review and sign off on technical outputs and client deliverables, ensuring quality and commercial practicality
  • Lead multiple concurrent engagements, balancing client outcomes, delivery quality, utilisation, and margin
  • Manage senior client stakeholders and help shape the direction of engagements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop multi-level teams across Senior Managers, Managers, Senior Consultants, and Consultants
  • Support engagement scoping, pricing, resource planning, and broader commercial decision-making
  • Contribute to growth through relationship development, cross-functional collaboration, and identification of new opportunities
Candidate Profile To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Significant experience in payroll remediation, wage compliance, or related workforce compliance programs
  • Strong advanced analytics capability across payroll or workforce datasets
  • Ability to translate legislative, industrial, or payroll complexity into clear calculation logic and practical client outcomes
  • Proven experience leading sensitive, high-impact engagements in complex environments
  • Strong commercial judgement and confidence operating with senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated team leadership capability, including mentoring and managing multi-level delivery teams
  • Ability to operate at Director level across both delivery and commercial leadership
Key Requirements
  • Deep payroll remediation / wage compliance experience
  • Advanced analytics capability, ideally including SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Experience working with large payroll, workforce, or HR datasets
  • Strong understanding of awards, enterprise agreements, overtime, penalties, super, and related compliance considerations
  • Experience in advisory, consulting, or a similarly commercial environment
  • Strong client-facing capability and executive-level communication skills
  • Experience contributing to business development, account growth, or practice development
What Success Looks Like Success in this role will be reflected through:
  • High-quality delivery of complex payroll remediation and compliance engagements
  • Trusted senior stakeholder relationships and strong client outcomes
  • Effective leadership of multi-level teams across multiple workstreams
  • Strong commercial discipline across delivery, resourcing, and margin
  • Contribution to growth through relationship development and new opportunity identification
Summary This is a rare opportunity for a senior payroll remediation and analytics professional to step into a visible Director-level role, leading complex client work while helping shape capability, commercial outcomes, and future growth.
