Our Queensland Government client are seeking to hire a strategic, technically skilled Data Professional to bridge the gap between business units and technical data teams. This role is central to promoting data-driven decision-making and ensuring stakeholders have the insights, tools, and governance needed to drive measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor across all business areas, creating and maintaining strong relationships across the business.
- Champion data governance, best practices, and lead communities of practice and data-related working groups.
- Guide the development of a federated data catalogue strategy aligned with state-wide enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Collaborate with SMEs to align data architecture, management frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Support the design of data pipelines, integrations, databases, and platforms.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements for analytics, data sharing, and intelligence.
- Evaluate and enhance data platform interoperability and integration strategies.
- Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic outcomes.
- Exposure to data architecture within large, complex enterprises.
- Hands-on experience in data modelling, modern data platforms, and governance.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including: Power BI (data analysis) and Azure (data engineering).
