You will work closely with data architects, engineers, and security stakeholders to ensure data is protected, governed, and shared appropriately across classified and mission-critical environments. This is a hands-on contract role requiring deep technical expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, and a practical understanding of secure data exchange in constrained and high-assurance settings.
Key Responsibilities
Data Protection & Compliance
- Design and implement data-centric security controls for sensitive and mission-critical information.
- Ensure solutions align with recognised federated networking and interoperability frameworks and associated security standards.
- Support security assurance activities, including compliance, accreditation, and risk management.
- Design and advise on policies for controlled data access and secure information sharing across federated partners.
- Apply encryption, data labelling, meta-tagging, and identity-based access controls to protect data throughout its lifecycle.
- Enable monitoring and validation of data flows to prevent unauthorised access, leakage, or compromise.
- Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align data security practices with multinational interoperability requirements.
- Design and support secure information-sharing capabilities to integrate mission systems into federated environments.
- Provide guidance on secure data exchange to support joint operations, exercises, and collaborative activities.
- Maintain strong knowledge of relevant interoperability architectures, security profiles, and implementation guidelines.
- Interpret and apply international standards related to information assurance, cryptographic interoperability, and coalition data exchange.
- Develop documentation, guidance materials, and internal training to support compliance with security frameworks.
- 3-month contract, with potential for extension subject to project needs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (baseline required; higher levels preferred).
- Australian citizenship (or equivalent eligibility) is required due to the nature of the work.
