About the Role:
As a Data Engineer / Data Architect, you’ll work on meaningful client projects that address complex business and societal challenges across a wide range of industries. You'll join a highly skilled, award-winning team focused on both the technical and strategic sides of data, analytics, and AI – a combination that will help you grow into a well-rounded and highly valued data professional.
You’ll work alongside colleagues with deep experience in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, modern data stack technologies, and cloud platforms. You’ll also build business acumen in areas like finance, economics, project management, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data-driven solutions
- Create fit-for-purpose data models
- Explore multiple hypotheses to address complex challenges
- Establish cloud infrastructure solutions
- Integrate and unify data from diverse sources
- Build production-grade data pipelines
- Create scalable, enterprise-ready data architectures
- Participate in client meetings and workshops with senior stakeholders
- Document project and system requirements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data practices
You’re naturally curious and enjoy solving complex data and business challenges – especially when there’s no single right answer. You combine technical skills with a practical mindset, always considering the business value behind your solutions.
Your skills and experience may include:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience
- Versatile experience across data engineering and architecture
- Strong data modelling capabilities (conceptual, logical, and physical)
- Proficiency in Python or SQL
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks)
- Familiarity with orchestration and transformation tools (e.g. Data Factory, DBT, Airflow)
- Proven ability to integrate and optimise diverse data sources
- Understanding of data architecture across current and future states
- Knowledge of data security, observability, and networking principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Consulting experience is a bonus
