We’re seeking a Senior Data Analyst with deep data modelling experience and strong enterprise reporting skills. You’ll design and implement scalable, business-aligned models in Databricks and deliver clear, user-friendly Power BI reporting over governed datasets.
What you’ll do
• Design and build the first iteration of business-aligned data models in Databricks (SQL/Python; Delta/Spark)
• Create curated datasets/semantic layers to support analytics and self-service
• Deliver efficient Power BI reports with clear KPIs and narrative
• Diagnose complex data issues; prototype and productionise solutions; lift data quality
• Use Git/Azure DevOps and CI/CD; contribute to shared standards and documentation
• Work closely with engineers/analysts/stakeholders while upholding governance and privacy
What you’ll bring
• Strong SQL/Python in Databricks (PySpark/Spark SQL) and Delta Lake
• Practical modelling chops (e.g., SCDs, surrogate keys, dimensional vs normalised, appropriate grain)
• Track record translating business processes into robust models and performant Power BI
• Excellent stakeholder communication across technical and non-technical audiences
• Modelling-first mindset: you build the initial model yourself (not a migration/pipeline role)
• CI/CD with Git/Azure DevOps; Agile ways of working

Higher-education domain experience; experience defining semantic layers/self-service patterns in Power BI.

In office 3 days per week; 2 from home.
Rate
$900–$975 p/d.
