Mid Level - Azure Cloud Engineer
Location: Melbourne (Hybrid WFH)
Salary: A$137k base + super + 10% bonus
Start Date: Ideally January 2026 (flexible)

Are you an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer looking for a role that balances governance, hands-on cloud work, and career growth? Join a vibrant technology team where inclusivity, collaboration, mentorship, and innovation are at the heart of everything we do.

Why You’ll Love This Role
  • Hybrid Flexibility:  CBD office, plus work from home 2-3 days per week, flexible with start and finish times in the office
  • Impactful Work: 50% governance, 50% hands-on – shape cloud strategy while staying technical.
  • Career Progression: Grow into automation, security, and AI-focused areas.
  • Collaborative Culture: Join a small, highly skilled team where your voice matters and your expertise drives decisions.
  • Learning Opportunities: Exposure to AI-driven automation and modern infrastructure practices.
Your Role
  • Designing Azure governance frameworks: policies, naming conventions, tagging strategies, cost management, compliance monitoring
  • Defining and enforcing Azure Policy and management group hierarchies
  • Building self-service provisioning solutions with Azure Automation, Logic Apps, and OpenAI tools
  • Developing infrastructure-as-code using PowerShell, Bicep (preferred) and Terraform
  • Building and managing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Collaborating with architecture, DevOps, and security teams to align with Microsoft’s Well-Architected Framework
  • Supporting BAU Azure operations: monitoring, patching, and environment lifecycle management
  • Applying systems administration knowledge across Windows, Linux, and Active Directory
  • Mentoring junior engineers and participating in architecture reviews
  • Continuously improving internal processes and automation templates
What We’re Looking For
  • 3–4 years of hands-on Azure experience, particularly governance, policy, and management groups
  • Strong skills in Infrastructure-as-Code: Bicep preferred, Terraform familiar
  • Knowledge of tagging strategies and monitoring solutions
  • Systems engineering background: Windows, Linux, Active Directory
  • Collaborative, mature, and open to developing AI-driven automation skills
  • Motivated to learn, innovate, and contribute in a small, supportive team
Why This Could Be Perfect for You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy both governance frameworks and hands-on Azure work, with opportunities to grow into automation, security, and AI-driven cloud solutions
