| Contract - 12 Months | Hybrid | Canberra or Sydney | Must Hold Baseline Security Clearance
We're partnering with a high-profile Commonwealth agency at a critical point in its technology uplift program. With three core systems being modernised and replaced by modular Azure-native solutions, this agency is building the infrastructure backbone that will underpin one of Australia's most important democratic processes.
These are not business-as-usual positions. You will be embedded in a delivery team, shaping architecture decisions, resolving complex infrastructure challenges, and mentoring the next generation of engineers - all against a deadline that does not move.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, developing, implementing and testing Azure-based solutions in line with enterprise architecture standards
- Managing and migrating infrastructure to the Azure platform across IaaS, serverless compute, storage, integration and identity services
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, ARM templates and/or Bicep
- Working across Service Bus, Event Hub, APIM, Key Vault, Azure SQL and Identity Governance
- Investigating and resolving complex infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code issues
- Providing technical direction and mentoring junior engineers
- Owning end-to-end delivery across packages of work - reliability, security and maintainability are non-negotiable
- Contributing to on-call support and working flexibly during peak electoral event periods
- Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise IT solutions consuming Azure services across IaaS, serverless compute, storage, integration, identity and API management
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using ARM and/or Bicep templates
- Experience managing and migrating infrastructure to Azure
- Sound understanding of risk management principles in an infrastructure context
- Active Baseline security clearance - required prior to commencement
Highly Desirable
- Azure cloud certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305 or AZ-400)
- Experience with GIT version control and common branching strategies
- Knowledge of Australian cyber security frameworks
- Familiarity with ITIL, TOGAF or Commonwealth ICT frameworks
Why Consider This Role
- Operate with real technical authority and scope to shape delivery decisions.
- Stable contract to June 2027 with hybrid working arrangements
- Multi-state footprint - Canberra or Sydney primary, with offices in Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne
