Jack's journey into recruitment began after working as a Business Development Representative for a polytechnic in Christchurch, NZ, where he supported individuals looking to return to study or upskill by selling courses to various businesses. While there, Jack decided to pursue an IT qualification, which was offered for free to staff. However, after completing his first semester, he realised that IT wasn’t the right fit for him, though he remained eager to stay close to the industry. A career in technical recruitment seemed like the perfect opportunity to stay connected to IT while leveraging his previous experience.

 

Jack understands first-hand the challenges of changing roles and the frustration of feeling stuck in a repetitive job. He finds it deeply rewarding to help people discover opportunities that reignite their motivation and allow for personal and professional growth. Jack also appreciates the complexities businesses face when searching for the right employee, recognising the negative impact of a bad hire. This drives his passion for being a matchmaker, ensuring both businesses and candidates are well supported to find the right fit.

 

Specialising in Software Development and Testing, Jack has built a network of over 500 industry professionals and has interviewed over 900 candidates throughout his career. His commitment to attending technology meetups, connecting with the IT community, and building genuine relationships has been a key factor in his success. By investing in both his technical knowledge and his understanding of clients’ and candidates’ needs, Jack is able to find the perfect match for each role.
